  • Karl continues to share his vision for PAI and to offer his deep well of experience drawn from more than 25 years designing and managing implementation of custom and specialized services for state program managers. He has been involved in providing these services for over 30 different states, some which included several programs each.

    Karl has a proven track record of successful work with state agency executives, program managers and project leaders where he has shared his program development ideas which complement and bolster the contribution of PAI’s standard service offerings. This experience with Small Employer and Individual Reinsurance Pools, High Risk and Pre-Existing Conditions Programs, Clearinghouses, and various Premium and Claim Subsidy Programs for people in need offers an independent unaffiliated perspective that cannot be offered by most of PAI’s competition.

    The National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ B Committee has called upon Karl to provide several objective presentations on his reinsurance and risk spreading program experience and he has served as a co-consultant on Academy Health’s Reinsurance Institute project. He has provided expert testimony to several state legislative committees and has served as a Committee Chair for the National Association of Comprehensive Health Insurance Plans. He has nonprofit board experience that has been developed over 30 years and continues to this day.

    Since his founding of PAI in 1998, Karl has grown the company from a sole proprietorship to a consistently healthy and growing business with an experienced Executive Leadership team and an enterprising CEO that allow him to step back and appreciate a very successful company with pride in its accomplishments.

    Karl holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Business from Defiance College. He also is a fellow in the Connecticut Academy of Mathematics and Science and a member of the board of trustees and board of directors of several entities.
